closing for a week, moving, & "ladies of luck"

hello again!
some big things are happening over here & i just wanted to get everyone up to speed.

first off, we are MOVING!! come april 28th, i will have packed up shop & be on my way into my new house & new office space. (: as of friday, april 22nd, lucky 107 will be SHUT DOWN until i get things settled in the new place. why? well, long story short, something happened with us being able to move in april 28th so we will be staying in a hotel until may 3rd & i do not think creating pretties for you loverlies in a hotel is the most sanitary thing to do... so i have made an executive decision to close for approximately 2weeks.

well, that covered points one & two... now onto the "ladies of luck" birthday club.

to receive a free birthday gift from lucky107 you MUST submit the following application DURING YOUR BIRTHDAY MONTH! if i receive the application, before or after your birthday month, it will be ignored. i'm sorry i have to do it this way, it's just really hard to get flooded with tons of emails & then half the time people forget they applied or they're only visiting the fanpage because they saw "free gift". this is a way for me to "weed out" those that are just looking to scored something for free. anyhow! please remit the following application to lucky107cosmetics@gmail.com DURING YOUR BDAY MONTH.
+ Name
+ Birthday
+ Eye Color
+ Favorite Color
+ Allergies
+ Vegan/Vegetarian

birthday gifts will be mailed the month after your birthday. please see the list below on when to expect your gift:
+ January-March 2010: mailed in April due to complications.
+ April: will be mailed in May
+ May: will be mailed in June
+ June: will be mailed in July
+ July: will be mailed in August
+ August: will be mailed in September
+ September: will be mailed in October
+ October: will be mailed in November
+ November: will be mailed in December
+ December: will be mailed in January
+ January 2011 [& forward]: will be mailed in February
+ February 2011 [& forward]: will be mailed in March
+ March 2011 [& forward]: will be mailed in April

well, that's all for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter & Passover... I will update everyone when we reopen.

New Shop Hours

Hello loverlies.

I wanted to extended my biggest thanks to all you ladies of luck who have made Lucky 107 what it is. From the day we opened in November until now, Lucky107 has, essentially, been open 24/7. Meaning from the minute I get up until the time I go to bed, I'm answering emails, packaging, mailing orders, & creating new products - obviously when I can find the time before the kids get up & while they're napping & after they go to bed. However, with this schedule, I am neglecting other things I want to do [ie: finish my sons' scrapbooks]... so, starting today [31march2011], Lucky 107 will only be "open" Monday-Friday. Saturdays & Sundays are going to be family days & "me" days. That's not to say I won't respond to emails or check up on the FanPage... I just won't be processing orders or mailing anything out or creating anything new.

I hope you all can understand. Thank you for your continued support.

Vegan & Cruelty Free... + T.A.T.

ok, I just want to clarify this: to me, vegan & cruelty free are TWO different things. To me, vegan is NO animal products or by products [beeswax & carmine being most common] & cruelty free is not tested on animals. NONE of my products are tested on animals - besides, I don't think my dogs would hold still enough to let me put eyeshadow on them [not that I would anyway!]. I do carry some products that contain carmine & beeswax but am currently looking into vegan options for the beeswax so that vegans may also enjoy our lip glosses, balms, & [coming soon] solid perfumes.

now onto our T.A.T [turn around time]: i strive to keep the t.a.t as short as possible... HOWEVER, being a mom to 2 infants [14m & 2m] & 2 furbabies, in school full time, & having to do the domestics, life tends to get ahead of me sometimes to where the end of the day I'm too tired to sit down in the office & do anything. so, as a general rule, our T.A.T is a week. sometimes shorter but no more. pretty in pinks: the first tutorial.

This is the first tutorial EVER done by me. (:  After all the suggestions to do one, I finally did it! I used pinks & a red for this look, so here we go - step by step! Feel free to substitute with whatever colors you have on hand & whatever eye goodies you have. All eyeshadows, the foiling serum, & eyeshadow primer are Lucky107.

What makes the magic happen. (:

The Eyeshadows needed for this look:
»Gryffindor - from the Harry Potter House Collection
»Southern Belle - from the G.R.I.T.S Collection
»mNg in a Jar - single pigmie
»Samcro - from the Sons of Anarchy Collection
»/facepalm - from the Interwebs Collection

The eye goodies:
»Concrete - eyeshadow primer
»Drat! Foiled Again - foiling serum
»NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - base

More eye goodies:
»Almay Intense I-Color in Black Pearl - liquid eyeliner
»Wet 'n' Wild in Black - pencil eyeliner
»Prestige "My Biggest Lashes" in Very Black - mascara

»Bella - creme blush

The "magic" tools:
»Small brush - the is a small random brush I had laying around - its not necessary but it makes crease work so much easier.
»Studio Tools Medium Eyeshadow brush- I got mine from Target

Now that we have everything we need assembled, lets get started...
First start off with priming your entire eye [from lash line all the way up to your eyebrow] with the Concrete. You only need a little bit. Too much & your eye will get all slimy & nothing will stick.

Next you need to apply your base. I used NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil [color: milk]. These things are a godsend! I picked up 2 for $7 [including shipping] off ebay. I picked up milk & black bean but we're only using milk for this eye design. (:

Once you "color" on your lid [again, start out with using a little bit & blending into your eye.. you can always add more if need be - too much & it'll crease & crack & look yucky] You can barely see it on my lid, but it is noticeably whiter in person.

Next we need our foiling serum [Drat! Foiled Again], medium eyeshadow brush, & Gryffindor.

Squeeze a little bit of the foiling serum from the tube & get the tip of the brush barely wet [wet enough to hold pigment, but not too wet -- too wet & your eyes will start to get a warming sensation to them if this happens, wipe everything off & start over]. Then dip it into Gryffindor until you have picked up enough pigment to cover JUST YOUR LID.
Cover JUST your lid with Gryffindor.
Next, dry your brush off really well & make sure you have no other pigment on it. Then dip it into Southern Belle
Apply Southern Belle in your crease & fade up to your brow bone.
Repeat the process with mNg in a Jar but don't fade all the way up to the brow bone.
Then take your little brush [if you have it]....
& use it to apply Samco into the deepest part of your crease. DO NOT FADE.

Yep, go back to this brush. its time to highlight!
You need the lightest color in your arsenal for this, & in our case, it's /facepalm from the Interwebs Collection.

Apply to under your eyebrow & fade into your pinks & over them to soften the colors.

Woo! Eyeshadows are done! Now its time to make these suckers pop with some eyeliner...
 liquid eyeliner...

 & mascara...

TADA! (:

This next step is optional but it adds a nice tint to your cheeks. Take a dab of Bella creme blush & smear it on your cheek bones. The more you apply, the darker the color becomes.

& voila! The final product! <3

So I hope you loverlies enjoyed my first tutorial. This style was actually a dupe from another makeup junkie. (: Here is the link to my inspiration:  Confessions of a Glitterholic.

Shipping: Prices & Refunds - What to Expect.

i just wanted to clarify some things when it comes to shipping so as to not confuse anyone & to make service a bit easier. shipping within the US [hawaii & alaska included] is $3 for the first item & 50¢ for each additional item. it'll come in a small white box with the pretty packaging [seen here]. when shipped, your order will have a delivery confirmation number which will be emailed to you with your detailed invoice. (:

now with international shipping [APO/FPO do NOT count as international... they will be considered US mail & military members get FREE shipping]: it will cost $7 for the first item & 50¢ for each additional item. price seem a bit steep for one eyeshadow? you can opt out of the extensive packaging & go for your items wrapped in tissue paper in a bubble mailer. HOWEVER, your original invoice will still be marked for $7 but you will be refunded the difference [see below for more details]. international shipping, however, does NOT come with a delivery confirmation number. this isn't because i said so - its a USPS thing. sorry. ):

now on to refunds: if your shipping cost is LESS than the price i charged you for shipping, you will be refunded the difference. (:  you won't be refunded the difference until i make it to the PO & ship out your order.

if you have any questions regarding shipping, packaging options, or refunds please shoot me an email at: lucky107cosmetics@gmail.com.

xo.
